Ms. DennystaffIn community services, there are 13 new actions. Nineteen of the 86 total actions were updated. The Parks and Recreation Strategic Master Plan is currently underway and expected to be complete early next year. Willard Sherwood Community Center is at 50% design and land use applications are under staff review. The improvements at Old Town Hall and Old Town Square will begin this spring and the land acquisition for Fire Station 3 is complete. So this is the summary pulled from the annual report. 65 actions were identified as being led by planning. The majority of those are ongoing but 11 were identified with the timeframe of 2026, 3 in 2028, 2 in 2030 and none for 2035. 17 actions are not in progress, 15 of those are new.

Mr. Naptestaffthe Planning Commission provided. So before we ask you to take action I will quickly go through these to remind you what they were. First regarding feasibility studies. The first item was to prioritize completion of and follow the recommendations of ongoing and upcoming feasibility studies to ensure future funds are being used thoughtfully and efficiently. This includes feasibility studies such as the ongoing property yard, feasibility study that will determine what future needs are there or if a second or additional site should be necessary, the completed feasibility study for fire station three, and the school's condition assessments that has impacted the capital requests for those facilities.

Pre-application briefing for a proposed mixed-use development at 4085, 4101 and 4103 Chain Bridge Road

Kirsten LockhartTo the point about is the parking sufficient? proposal come in that's radically under-parked, that instead is offering shuttles to the metro, that is almost forcing residents to take alternate transportation methods rather than putting more cars on the road. Because I think to kind of kowtow to the fact that while we are a commuter town, it's going to make this area in particular, the small area plan, completely impassable, which becomes a safety hazard for things like the fire station being right there, school buses trying to get kids back and forth, the Q bus trying to get people back and forth. I think our metrics for estimating trips are woefully outdated. For example, the flats, way more students drive to and from campus from the flats than I think anyone would have anticipated.
