Consideration of the July 2, 2024 Special Meeting minutes
27:47Brian LubcomenstaffThank You mayor and council a very brief staff report we didn't put this item on consent since it is a large transaction and also a very important one for the city as you all are aware the city has determined that the existing fire station number three needs to be replaced city staff in consultation with professionals outside analyzed a number of properties and determined that this particular property, which is located immediately south of the existing fire station, the current location of the GMU Commerce Center was the ideal location. The city issued a letter of intent to the foundation. We went back and forth just a little bit, but they were very cooperative, and they signed a letter of intent.
staff report and the CFO can detail if you need any more information sufficient funds for the acquisition of this property have already been approved through the budget process and appropriated through the fire station 3 CIP account we don't anticipate any other City Council action with respect this transaction however the planning construction of replacement fire station will of course require a bunch of discussion consultation and opportunities for council and others to weigh in so with that we're happy to enter answer any questions but we would commend this to you for your consideration and approval thank you
Jon Stehle Jrthank you Mary just a quick commending to everyone in this process creating parity on our two fire stations has been an effort of not only this council but previous councils and this transaction night paves the way for it it is an awesome group that we have we honor them earlier today and the fact that we've got a location now energizes me that will quickly get parity both 3 and 33 so very excited thank you mayor
