Presentation of the Draft FY2027–FY2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
2:18Melanie Zippstafffor Van Dyke master plan community outreach began on the Van Dyke master plan in 2018 and it was put in the CIP in FY 21 was delayed and pushed for several years the Parks and Recreation director would like to redo the community engagement and really coordinate this project with the Blenheim Boulevard project and the Willard Sherwood project to ensure we don't have three large construction projects happening at the same time in the same location and then really making sure that the Van Dyke master plan complements the new Willard Sherwood facility and the expansion so you'll see that last year this was shown to be to begin funding in FY 27 however for all of the reasons that I stated the funding allocation will be pushed out to FY 28 next
Matthew RiceThere are a few other facilities that the county maintains as well in the city, and obviously Willard Sherwood is the one with the attention right now, and we were in a very cooperative stance with them at least a year ago. Through my other role on the Parks and Rec Advisory Board, we had frequent discussions about that, But there are other places, significant parcels within the city that are still maintained by the county that would be useful to have discussions about. And others. Dominion owns a fairly large parcel as well, and all of those would be useful to have within some non-CIP longer-range discussion.
