Discussion of a potential review and update to the adopted small area plans for Old Town, Northfax, Kamp Washington, and Fairfax Circle
1:59:29Matthew RiceMr. Rice? So I wrote down a couple of things that hopefully would touch on, and you have touched on a few. I think the flooding potentially in the Fairfax Circle area and looking broadly at potential hazards that may impact development, that's a big issue. And I think flooding in particular has come up repeatedly in the Northfax Small Area Plan and in the Fairfax Circle Small Area Plan, but I think keeping our eyes on that is obviously an important one and having that be part of the context and how we discuss areas. Something I spend quite a bit of time during the summer as a fellow of the Virginia Climate Center is to look at urban heat issues. And the data we collected in 2025 does show some areas of the city with significant heat problems.
