Consideration of actions arising from the work session pertaining to various city trail projects

3:21:45

Philip LaTassapublic commentI speak tonight representing the Friends of Aquitaine Creek. The Friends of Aquitaine Creek always advocate for the principle of making our streets safe for people before we make our forests safe for pavement. We therefore thank the council very much for your resolution pausing the George Schneider Trail for reconsideration. We therefore also commend the newly described proposal for a route linking Eaton Place, University Drive, and Fairfax Boulevard. Such a route would complete the vision of improved east-west non-motorized connections while sparing our last precious woods and wetlands. We commend the Council also for the action taken this evening to pause the Pickett Road Connector Trail, a redundant duplication of existing connections.
