Paul Nabtistaffthat we lack for some of the things that we're trying to accomplish in the We should continue to support school facilities and the types of requests that are being made related to schools. Multimodal transportation safety continues to be a priority. Two exceptions to this. It was noted that the previous questions that were provided on a proposed traffic signal at University Drive and Layton Hall Drive may still be a concern. I want to note that we did reach out to transportation staff about this project and they identified of the Willard Sherwood Community Center traffic study is believed that that signal is now warranted again which is why that project has returned also the Planning Commission stated that they noticed waning interest in the Country

Speaker 4and I think you're absolutely correct I think the key word there was balance trying to balance the priorities with the resources ultimately with the Planning Commission and other boards and commissions are recommending along with my recommendation to the city manager and then ultimately City Council as well and if I could really quickly trying to balance not only within what projects have gotten funded So I'll try to make a case here of sort of our thought process and discussions with the previous deputy city manager, Val Marie, the current acting city manager, Melanie Zipp, where specifically in Parks and Recreation, Parks and Recreation has Willard Sherwood sort of still going on. That's about $60 million over the course of its life as an initial investment.

James Featherand the facilities that we need to provide them in, that they need to be safe, they need to be modern, and so forth. So at the same time, doing a routine maintenance to keep things going, as Mr. Cunningham alluded to in our public safety area. It's the same thing for education. But we're not the body to probably make those kind of judgments at this point. needs and the importance we see, the importance that's reflected in the comprehensive plan in all these areas. Projects to improve and expand major city facilities that support these essential services, community needs, stayed the course where we've committed is a good strategy. We're not going to back out from the Willard Sherwood Center at this point, I think.

Matthew Ricebut more city vehicles being placed in other areas so amongst all the projects and things going on my request to to private the last meeting was to try to articulate what they would like us to recommend and emphasize and we reviewed the past recommendations that we've made and always had support for parks specifically for the Parks and Rec Advisory Board the Van Dyke master plan and its implementation is critical it's a really important location within the city heavily used it kind of forms the northern part of a spine that's continuous all the way from City Hall all the way up through you know Daniel's run st. Leo's and so forth the park is just really important it's also inherently tied to all the things happening with Willard Sherwood
