Proclamation acknowledging Northern Virginia Transportation Commission's (NVTC) 60th Anniversary

Monique LaFleurpublic commentGood evening. Thank you so much for allowing me to speak tonight. I come to speak to you about the George Schneider Trail again. Taxpayers are still having questions about their concerns regarding the George Schneider Trail project. I want to say that public projects are not static. the needs of the people are not static the george snyder trail project is occurring now not 10 years ago not five years ago so blindly following decisions of previous public officials does not serve the current needs and values of taxpayers this blind allegiance turns the george snyder project into a vanity project which is not an appropriate use of the city's resources Voters in the city have, when given the opportunity, voted by large margins in favor of preserving

asking for accountability regarding the George Snyder Trail project. Not all of those individuals and organizations are able to keep coming to speak to this council due to work and family obligations. But they are, however, still waiting for explanations for modifications to the George Snyder Trail project. As a resident and a taxpayer, I would prefer that the city stop allocating so much manpower and time to pushing through the massive and unnecessary George Schneider Trail project. And allocate more resources to addressing the increased crime in our city, especially in and around our businesses. Our police and our businesses need more support. As a voter and a taxpayer, I would prefer to see a realignment of priorities

instead of a realignment of the George Snyder Trail. Thank you.
