Discussion on Setting the Max Real Estate Tax Rate (Action Item for March 10, 2026)
2:05:23Daniel AlexanderstaffI don't know if I said it clearly but it certainly gives you some flexibility in considering the other revenue options that we've presented to you. We included other rate percentage increases. We included a meals tax increase. And so it not only gives you flexibility in terms of capacity for enhancements, thinking about what might happen as part of the legislative process, but also if you want to do something differently around revenue, it certainly gives you capacity to do that. So those are two points of consideration. happy to answer any any questions all
Stacy HallI have a question about the meals tax. I'm on page 39 in the budget book where it talks about the proposed rate increase to 4.5%. It says it's an increase of 2.134 million. For some reason, I was thinking that number was like 1.2 or 1.4 million
Daniel Alexanderstaffexcellent point in that What we're recommending would essentially be the same amount that you're increasing around the meals tax
