School Board Work Session

Carolyn PitchesNobody wants, they didn't want any college housing, because I think there's a lot of rentals anyway to college students in a neighborhood that's also a lot of families. So we all know some college kids in our lives, and we've been college kids. don't necessarily want them you know living right next door so is anybody have anything else to discuss about Green Acres are you guys I know the senior center is currently at Green Acres is it going to stay there or for the time being well

just need a space. Like, the school board just needs to have a property that's viable to build a school, should we need to, in 15, 20 years. And I don't think anybody on the school board, this school board, the school board before, the school board is married to Green Acres. you know it was just it was sort of the last school board property standing and I understand that it's not a great facility for a senior center I think it's fine for Main Street in some capacity just because it was an elementary school at one time but ideally like the facilities the ed specs on that place are ancient yes

Okay. So, I mean, I guess the long and the short of it is until we have, you know, until there's obviously some decision made about the joint venture with the county, we just hold tight on Green Acres and figure out, you know, what your needs are going to be and then, you know, work with the school board to figure out a way to, you know, give you all what you need. I mean, to me, if they do go ahead with the Willard-Shorewood project, to me, that space is better used as sort of a green space, as some sort of field. I mean we already use them for fields but I because the building I think the building it's not worth it to put the money into the building if we don't have to that being said if we don't have a senior center well then I would say that
