School Board Regular Meeting

StudentOkay. Now we'll go over what happened in our meetings. So for the September 29th meeting, we discussed the bond referendum and we broke into smaller groups to talk about all the things that impact implementations in our community. We went over the new security measures such as getting new cameras in the elementary schools officers and crossing guards to help everything to be more efficient in the community we did an update on facilities including the bathroom renovation at fairfax high school and all the improvement plans with the fairfax orchestra pit the basketball stanchions and then we also put in like individual crest requests we were in our groups about the softball field renovation stadium restroom improvements which did get approved thank you and then the lighting upgrades

light that Izzy brought up the softball field needing renovations and I personally don't play softball so I've never gone to that side of the field so I didn't know that it was such like a big problem especially for the athletes there so like hearing her contribution is saying like how much it needs to be renovated and how it would help her and everybody else in the school feel better it was like eye-opening to me because I could see different perspectives

Jeff Platenbergstaffthat we ended up doing but we do have selected projects in here we do have the it was mentioned earlier about from our student reps really talking about one of the comments that was made about the softball field and we do have what's including here two years for that project to continue we have always had it on our radar but with the transition of the coaching staff and one to make sure that in working with the DSA at Fairfax High School the appropriate time to make sure that they do want to go ahead and have some type of artificial turf field and we've gotten that nod so we've included it in the CIP in addition we have some security enhancements to the tune of about $80,000 and also a hallway lighting at Katherine Johnson Middle School that was brought up by
