Transportation Project Update.
26:15Chloe Ritterstaffyou so the first big plan in the planning phase is the move Fairfax City initiative and I think you've all seen this before so we've been working on this project or this plan and we started on this plan last year where we have three components of this project three components of this plan there's a citywide pedestrian master plan a citywide safety action plan and then the Old Town circulation study and we combined those three projects together because there's a lot of overlap in the goals and in the data collection and the public public feedback feedback that we're getting on how do we make safety pedestrians and everybody else safer across the city and how we make it more walkable across the
city. So it was really intentional that we brought those forward together as one project. We're now at the point where we're diverging the projects or diverging the plans because the types of recommendations are different from the pedestrian and safety plans compared to the Old Town plan. And so right now we're more focused on finalizing the pedestrian safety master plan, pedestrian plan and the safety action plan because that's giving us a citywide view of what are our priorities across the city in terms of where we want to spend our future efforts and where we want to prioritize our future efforts to develop new concepts and to develop new projects as Ms. Sanford just said. The Old Town Circulation Study is a slightly different type of recommendation or a
very different type of recommendation where we're going to be coming forward with some recommendations to then move forward to funding and design and construction. So we want to spend a little more time on that because that's more complicated. We want to make sure we get the details right on that. So that's why at this point those first two projects and then the third project are sort of diverging. So right now we're working on finalizing the recommendations for the pedestrian master plan and the safety action plan. We have an advisory committee, the next advisory committee meeting scheduled for later this month. And then we, as mentioned earlier, we'll be coming back to you on December 1st for our work session to give an overview of what those recommendations
