Transportation Project Update.

Chloe RitterstaffOne of the largest districts is down near George Mason University. And then a third area with a lot of residential parking is up in this area of the city, in the northwest area, because there used to be, you'll remember, Paul VI High School used to be in this location. And so there was concerns about overflow parking from that high school when that was operating. So there's two districts in that area. And today we're going to be talking about this district, District 11. We have received a request from a resident, residents there to remove this district because it's no longer needed because Paul VI High School is no longer there. Right now there are the properties highlighted in blue are the properties that are located within the district.

So I think that that's something we need to look at in how we develop the process. But generally speaking, these parking districts were put in place due to an external land use, in this case, Paul VI High School, that with having parking spillover and causing issues in the neighborhoods, because that land use has gone away, that parking demand has gone away. So we would want to look at what changes are, what were the issues that created the parking district in the first place and what changes have happened since then that maybe indicate that the parking district is no longer needed.
