City Council Meeting

Fosterstaffokay thank you um mayor members of council so um this is where we have um talk about the future topics list um which you've uh was at your seat this is what we currently show as projected items in the future we'd like to focus specifically on September 2nd that is the next regular meeting it's our students it's the next it's a work session but it's it's because you are recessing in August this is your next scheduled time to meet and right now we show four items which are discussion with the school board on the bond on school bond renovation timeline there's a pre-application briefing on Fairfax Square presentation on development proffers which is a follow-up to a council request and then there is a fiscal year 2025 carryover requests and reappropriations which is a

you know this is this is the new process that we discussed at your uh recent retreat and so i believe we are from staff's perspective that we are doing what council has asked and so you had an instance uh when when we when the agenda went out somebody wanted to add something did not happen It was added during the agenda approval process, which is which is how that should work. So. We so roughly at the end of end of August, a week before this meeting is we'll do the same thing. We'll send out what the proposed agenda is for your work session. It should mirror this unless there are changes. For example, if the Fairfax Square folks weren't ready or something came up that might get pushed or as an example of something

Stacy Halldid just want to ask with regard to the pre-application briefing on Fairfax Square at our work I'm sorry to edit a retreat we talked about having the applicant present so that we could ask questions is that going to begin with this September meeting is that like that new policy is going to start

Speaker 23had actually had planned way back i think it was february or something we were on the agenda at a retreat to talk about the pre-application process but that got deferred i don't think it ever made it back on the agenda If that's the will of counsel, certainly we could inform Fairfax Square that that's a change. I think staff still would like to have the opportunity to talk to counsel about that process and kind of step through it and give some background and context. And whether that changes an applicant speaking or not is probably neither here nor there, conversation about it would be useful for the group
