Discussion on the Proposed FY26 Budget

0:13

JC Martinezstaffyears so that's where the majority of the overtime happens from the general fund specifically there is some CIP those get charged back to the project that's budgeted in there but to your point councilmember Peterson if the project did not exist we would not have those associated overtime costs within those CIP projects.

Speaker 28Sure. Well, first, to answer the question about how they're funded, I was just looking back at our list of projects for next year, and I don't believe there's any general fund money. So when we do need what is called a local match to some of our federal money and some of our state money, in those instances, we use primarily C&I funding, which is the commercial and industrial tax. We are not using general fund money. I don't believe that there are any transportation projects in that are using general fund even for the application preparation i believe that that is being i'll ask mr martinez to confirm but i believe that for the application preparation cip project that is also cni so i don't believe again that there's any general fund now yes you're

correct that when we do construct projects with outside money when it comes to maintenance that is then general fund money that is being used. However, and we've discussed this before, oftentimes when we're doing capital projects to replace, to put in a sidewalk, at the same time, we're replacing some of the associated infrastructure. Catherine Readyou do so there's there you so you have staff hours that support the Renaissance housing program and a hundred percent of that money is a grant from the city from the general fund maybe that's a question for mr. Martinez it is so none of that is grant funded it is just taxpayer dollars and the program is 25 years old this year 25 years old this
