Discussion on the Proposed FY26 Budget
0:13Stacy HallThank you. I think that's all my parks questions. Can I ask some CIP for the school? Yeah, absolutely. So I understand that certain things have been moved that might not have been notated or been obvious to people that were not aware of it. I know the softball field. Can you kind of comment on some of the CIP items?
Speaker 7We originally, the 1.75 million that you will see in the CIP is now out in FY 2028. The school board pushed that off in response to the need by the city. I had my reservations about that just because of Title IX. We did the baseball field for the, obviously the boys, so the softball field. But I think it's fine, it's close enough that I think it'll be amenable to most people. So that was the thing, that $1.75 million. Mr. Phillips and I were looking through the CIP items, and in terms of FY 2025, which is already adopted, we are not going to spend the $1.2 million on the renovation and the auditorium strip it we would have to cancel too many programs at this point to do that project it's a huge project so we're willing to give that money back to the
the other little bit is staff salary and benefits and you know grounds maintenance it's nothing you know like I said it's not a shopping trip in there but looking at our CIP there are a couple like I said we can give back the $1.2 million to be reallocated we've pushed off the $1.75 million from the softball field we can push off the hallway lighting for Katherine Johnson and the marquees which is a little bit more money the security enhancements that are proposed for FY2026 that might come in lower with FCPS to see if that they would cover that expense so that might be a savings there.
