Catherine ReadGood evening. I would like to call the regular meeting of May 12th, 2025, 2026, I mean, to order. The Wayback Time Machine. It's great to see a full chamber. Thank you and welcome to everyone who's come out tonight. We have some wonderful proclamations that we're going to do, but first, if you are able and so choose, please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. I would like to ask the Asian Festival on Main Committee to come down for the proclamation acknowledging May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

and it is a testament to the unwavering spirit of their ancestors who face their own struggles with dignity and strength. And whereas in order to honor and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders in our community, Wendy Wong, co-owner of the Standard Barbershop, approached the Old Town Fairfax Business Association and joined forces with several sponsors to create Fairfax City's first Asian Festival on Main in 2021 with great success. Attendance has grown incrementally each year, making the Asian Festival on Main one of the largest Asian festivals in the DMV region. And whereas the sixth annual Asian Festival on Main strengthens community pride, supports local businesses, and celebrates the diverse cultures

that enrich Fairfax City, drawing attendees from across the region to experience its vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Now, therefore, I, Catherine S. Reed, Mayor of the City of Fairfax, proclaim May 2026 as Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the City of Fairfax, and encourage everyone to celebrate the cuisine, art, music, dance, and diverse cultures the AANHPI community on Sunday, May 17th, in the city's historic downtown. Help us welcome thousands of visitors from across the region to our city for the largest Asian festival on Maine to date. And with that, I will turn it over to Jensen. Oh,

Every year the class gets bigger that they graduate, but the main graduation is Thursday, followed by the different degree celebrations. I'm very pleased to have been asked to be the commencement speaker for the College of Science on Thursday. Last year they asked me to be the commencement speaker for the Sheriff's School, so I don't know. It could be a new gig. I don't know. We'll see. stand-up comedy, but who knows. Saturday is the anti-car show here. Asian Festival on Main is Sunday, and another Old Glory rugby game also on Sunday. There's a lot going on, something for everyone, and I hope to see you all
