CIP Updatein progress

The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is an ongoing multi-year budget planning effort spanning both school and municipal/parks contexts.

In October 2025, Acting Superintendent Dan Phillips presented an updated CIP budget to the School Board during a work session, revising figures to incorporate HVAC funding and updated costs for the football turf field replacement and softball field; the updated CIP was flagged for formal presentation at the next regular school board meeting. In February 2026, staff presented the parks-related CIP submissions for the upcoming budget year to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB), covering 15 items including Green Acres improvements, Old Town Hall FF&E, Old Town Square improvements, Neighborhood Parks Facelift, NOVA Parks regional pay, Van Dyck Park Master Plan (design deadline pushed to FY28), Sherwood Community Center expansion (now adopted), playground equipment replacement, security camera installation (starting FY27), paving, Sherwood HVAC update, Blenheim Blvd Tunnel Lights, Stalnaker Field turf replacement, KJM fields (lighted turf, parking, bathrooms, track), and a Barker House Assessment. By March 2026, the City Manager had delivered a concise budget presentation to City Council, with further presentations on senior services and special events scheduled for April 7th.
