The project was initiated when the City Council unanimously approved a $650,000 FY 2025 Fall Supplemental Appropriation Resolution on November 12, 2024, which included $50,000 from NVTA 30% funds directed to the CIP Fund specifically for the CUE TDP. The City Council held a dedicated work session discussion on the TDP on March 4, 2025, with no formal action taken, followed by a staff update at the October 7, 2025 work session. Most recently, at the June 2, 2026 work session, Budget Director Gwen Riddle presented a $1,815,512 supplemental appropriation resolution covering FY 2026 expenditures, which included an additional $22,964 in NVTC funds received to true-up funding needed to complete the CUE Bus Transit Development Plan Update; no Council action was taken at that session.

The project remains in progress, with incremental funding adjustments being made as the plan advances toward completion.
