Fairfax High School stadium was identified as staff's recommended venue for the 2025 July 4th proximity fireworks show.

[2.02] Fairfax High School's recent events including a tropical-themed homecoming, back-to-school night, and October 4th family festival were highlighted in the student representative report. Mrs. Hall thanked everyone for the new concession stand and bathrooms at FHS, and Mrs. Kelsey mentioned the upcoming FHS field hockey senior night.

[3.01] The public hearing on the Capital Improvement Program was scheduled to be held at Fairfax High School's Multipurpose Room.

Fairfax High School is the venue for the upcoming Holiday Craft Show. Fairfax High School was recognized as a Purple Star School, completing the application process to support military-connected students.

[1.03] Community use at Fairfax High School is at high levels; FY24 revenues were $89,866, there are ten student tech hires, and new EV charging stations are being used by staff.

[1.07] The County presentation noted the many community and staff events that occur at Fairfax High School.

[2.02] Batra reported that Fairfax High School hosted a science fair with over 300 projects and 500 students, held arts and DECA events, and has students advancing to states in wrestling, swimming, and DECA. [4.02] The School Board approved a $2,000 donation to the Fairfax High School All Night Graduation Celebration. Superintendent Platenberg reported that the FHS Press Box project received final electrical approval, and noted other FHS improvements including security enhancements, artificial turf field, new band practice field, new turf baseball field with updated dugouts, renovated field house concession stand, a new state-of-the-art auditorium sound system, and outdoor learning areas.

[1.02] Fairfax High School was identified as the site for summer credit recovery courses, offered both online and in person.

The Fairfax High School principal was awarded Principal of the Year for all of Fairfax County.

[2.01] A full roof replacement at Fairfax High School was included in the November 2024 bond referendum; the School Board had previously agreed to delay the replacement to help with the FY26 budget, but Chair Pitches noted this delay has caused the cost of the roof to increase.

[2.02] Miss Lucas reported on various opening activities at Fairfax High School including Senior Sunrise, the Senior Story Project, Mane Market opening, fall sports, and Homecoming 2025 planning. Mrs. Kelsey noted attending Pyramid Night at Fairfax High School and remarked it was a well-attended event; Mrs. Pitches congratulated Abbey Lucas and Ms. Dorsey on the amazing work on Pyramid Night.

Fairfax High School was noted as the school attended by the ESC's new student representative, Sauren Kawtra.

[2.02] Fairfax High School hosted events including a Junior Cheer Clinic, Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Dance, and a varsity football game during October. [2.03] Community use at Fairfax High School was reported to be at high levels with FY25 revenues of $83,605, ten student tech hires, and EV charging stations used by 13 staff members. Ms. Kelsey invited attendees to the FHS Field Hockey game and congratulated the team on advancing toward states; Chair Pitches also mentioned an upcoming craft show at FHS.

[2.02] Fairfax High School winter sports (basketball, wrestling, swim & dive, gymnastics, indoor track) were highlighted, along with the MTAS Musical performance of 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' on January 30. Dr. Wright attended the Saturday School program, community and curriculum night, a boosters meeting, a girls basketball game, the FHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction, and the Academy's musical performance at Fairfax High School. Mrs. Pitches noted that FCPS announced the completion of the external investigation into the Hayfield Secondary School and Fairfax High School football programs and called for public release of the report in the interest of transparency and accountability.

[1.05] Fairfax High School graduates are the beneficiaries of the All-Night Graduation Celebration supported by the $2,000 donation. [2.02] Fairfax High School held a Women's History Month assembly, an annual Fashion Show and Cultural Celebration, and began spring sports practices. Ms. Hickman acknowledged Fairfax High School parents for their support of the FHS football program and head coach, and noted that the outcome of an investigation resulting in the reinstatement of Coach Taylor was not widely communicated.

[2.04] Dr. Georgina Aye presented the State of the Schools report for Fairfax High School, covering demographics, enrollment, testing, discipline, Pawsitivity, CTE, and AVID programs. Ms. Kelsey thanked Fairfax High School JV and Varsity players for participating in Fairfax Little League Day.

[2.02] Student Rep Murray reported that Fairfax High School launched the Lions on the Rise program and new student orientation, with homecoming planning underway, fall sports started, and Little Lions Night held. [2.03] Fairfax High School was the site of the summer World Language Camp as reported in this presentation. [2.05] The proposed Blenheim Boulevard Multimodal Improvements include an amphitheater to be constructed on Fairfax High School grounds, prompting questions from board members. Superintendent Wright mentioned looking forward to the upcoming FHS Homecoming parade and game. Ms. Cecere noted she saw the new electrical classroom at FHS and looked forward to the military appreciation and pyramid night at the upcoming FHS football game and homecoming.
