Providence Elementary School
Providence Elementary School (3616 Jermantown Road, Tax Map Parcel 47-3-01-040) is a City of Fairfax public elementary school serving over 900 students, including both City of Fairfax and Fairfax County students.
Daniels Run Elementary School is undergoing a major renovation project in the City of Fairfax. In April 2025, the School Board approved a reallocation of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funds to complete a vestibule project at the school, contingent on FCPS approval for the City to reimburse FCPS for executing the work.

The school has been the subject of significant capital improvement activity. In April 2025, the City Council unanimously approved (6-0) an 8-year Special Use Permit for the City of Fairfax School Board to install temporary modular classrooms on-site to accommodate enrollment. In September 2025, the City Council approved a professional services contract with Architecture, Incorporated for architectural design, engineering, and construction management services for a full school renovation, with combined FY2026 expenses for Providence and Daniels Run Elementary not to exceed $3,000,000.
A security vestibule project was also approved by the School Board in fall 2025, funded through reappropriated CIP funds contingent on FCPS reimbursement approval; the vestibule was installed in summer 2026 and was nearing completion as of September 2026, with final steel framing installation planned for September 21, 2026. The broader renovation project entered schematic design phase in spring/summer 2026, with Architecture, Incorporated leading design work and a superintendent's advisory team — including community members, staff, and students — actively engaged in the process. Alongside construction activity, the school has maintained a full range of academic and community programs including AVID, STEAM lab experiences, Eco-Schools USA designation, Title I programming, and various family engagement events.
